Dear Athlete

We need a little bit more info from you to help ensure a safe and enjoyable X-Berg Challenge 2021 event. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the below notices as to comply with Covid-19 regulations as well as other information. Kindly complete and submit soonest – once the admin is out the way we can all focus on the fun stuff!

It should be noted that COVID-19 regulations change all the time, and we encourage you to keep an eye out for our updates and book airline tickets/hotels with flexible/refundable booking policies.

We strongly recommend that you to take out travel insurance, even when travelling locally in South Africa there are some companies offering cover. Companies such as Hollard Travel offers coverage for 'cancel for any reason' and 'COVID-19' - Terms & Conditions apply. Please see their official website to find out more: https://www.hollard.co.za/other-products/travel-insurance There are other options too, such as TIC - https://www.tic.co.za/travel-insurance/products/local We are not a broker for any of the insurance companies, please liaise with them direct and check if they offer cover for your own requirements.

As per previous communication and the official website, should a situation arise which prevents us from hosting the 2021 edition in March, the event will be re-scheduled for mid-October 2021 and your full race entry fee will be transferred to the new race date.

Should you elect to withdraw your entry 15 days or more prior to the event (before 02 March 2021), your entry fee is refundable less R200 cancellation/admin fee. If you elect to withdraw your entry 14 days or less prior to the event, your race entry fee will be 100% non-refundable and not transferable to a future event. Cancellations must be done in writing to info@bhande.com

Substitutions will be allowed at a cost of R300 per athlete up to 7 working days before the event (08 March 2021). Substitutions must be done in writing to info@bhande.com and payment needs to be received within 24 hrs of the substitution. The athlete taking your place should complete the online registration on the same day.I take acknowledge
Compliance *
We take the health of our athletes, support crew and staff involved with the X-Berg Challenge very seriously. As we need to comply with the current COVID-19 regulations in place, please take note:

- Spectators are still not permitted to attend sport events in accordance with the latest Level 1 Covid 19 South African Government regulation (per 28 Feb 2021 - https://www.gov.za/covid-19/about/coronavirus-covid-19-alert-level-1). However, support crew assisting the athlete is permitted.

- All athletes & support crew are expected to adhere to the current Covid curfew time and be confined in their overnight accommodations between 00h00 – 04h00. Participants will need to adhere to the race rules rest period between 22h00 - 04h00. Athletes still moving after 22h:00 or before 04h:00 will be subject to a minimal time penalty as well as open themselves up for prosecution per Covid-19 regulation. Participants should be mindful of fatigue and personal safety when deciding to rest or not during the race.

- COVID-19 health and safety guidelines are to be followed at all times and will be overseen by our appointed Compliance Officer who will be on site to ensure compliance with COVID-19 measures, health protocols and limitation of potential exposure to persons with COVID-19 are adhered to.

- Wearing of face masks is mandatory for every person

- Social distancing of 1.5 meters or more is mandatory

- Sanitation is to be performed (washing of hands/cleaning of tables etc)

- This race does not take place in a stadium. It takes place in the Drakensberg and as such athletes are naturally spread out over a big area and are not grouped together.

- Should any participant feel sick or be suspected of potential COVID-19 contact/symptoms, the person will be required to isolate and local health authorities will be notified for assistance (any related cost will be for the participants own account).

- Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife rules & regulations apply

- All restaurants and other properties used health & safety protocols apply
